Dr David Fialkoff, N.D.

***

Each I walk the land I feel transformed. Living here the spell is unbroken. The retreat is itself a meditation, a place facilitating mindful presence, free of distraction. This is a place to touch nature, the world's and your own.

I love hosting. I am friendly and attentive, entertaining and funny. Guests have referred to me as delicious (personality and food) and brilliant (conversations.) I love to teach (the original meaning of "doctor") and can do so unobtrusively. That is, I have a good knowledge-base / skill set and an excellent "bedside manner." After 26 years of doctoring I'm good at matching people with reasonable, acceptable strategies for living. One-on-one and in small groups I look forward to sharing with you the fruits of my decades-long practice of yoga, meditation, vegetarianism, Kabbalah, alternative medicine and natural healing... or just to making your stay pleasant.

Dr. David graduated the John Bastyr College of Naturopathic and was licensed by the State of Connecticut as a Naturopathic Doctor in 1983. He then opened Natural Medical Service, a general, private practice in West Hartford, Connecticut helping to pioneer the spread of naturopathic and alternative medicine in New England. He has worked extensively with HIV/AIDS patients as well as with elderly immigrant and inner city populations.

Dr. Dave took an interest in natural health and spirituality from his youth. He has practiced vegetarianism, eastern spirituality and aspects of Kabbalah from his early teens. Seeking truth, he combined his spiritual practices with the study of the natural sciences, eventually enrolling in naturopathic medical school where he excelled in the study and practice of Classical Homeopathy.

Dr. David has authored (see Writings),
The Mystical Affirmations of Israel
Kabbalah Primer
Kabbalah Healing; Descent for the Purpose of Ascent
The Poetry of Disease
Ways to Save (Your) Life
and a fantasy poem, not just for children
Sally Sue Simpson.

Dr. Dave takes great delight in exposing the simple solutions which underlie even complex problems, empowering people through understanding and practice to live healthier, happier lives. Contact Dr. Dave.

Dr. David is currently retired. While he does not practice medicine he does teach medicine and healing in the original sense of the word "doctor," that is, "teacher."

(Naturopathic medicine requires a four-year, post-graduate education very similar to standard medical school except that it teaches the use of alternative health care therapies which stimulate and strengthen the body's own detoxification and healing abilities. These natural health therapies include, nutrition, herbalism, homeopathy, Chinese medicine, hydrotherapy, live food therapy, manipulation, massage, weight loss program and more.)

Alternative medicine is practiced at our retreat. Naturopathic medicine includes nutrition and also herbalism. Homeopathy combines well with hydrotherapy and live food therapy. Massage is another practice of alternative medicine. Zen is an eastern practice as is Kabbalah. David Fialkoff practices alternative medicine and kabbalah.
